Roles and Responsibilities
As a Cross Technology Managed Services Engineer (L1) at NTT Data, you will be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Proactively monitoring client infrastructure and identifying incidents before or as they occur.
- Troubleshooting and resolving first-line issues related to Linux systems, networks, and data centers.
- Providing telephonic, ITSM ticket, or chat-based support to clients.
- Performing maintenance activities such as patch management, configuration changes, and performance checks.
- Working across multiple technology domains — including Cloud, Security, Networking, and Collaboration.
- Creating and updating knowledge base articles for process improvements.
- Supporting disaster recovery operations and system restoration tests.
- Managing seamless handovers between shifts to maintain continuous service delivery.
- Reporting and escalating critical incidents as required to ensure SLA compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in Linux troubleshooting, network operations, or IT infrastructure support.
- Knowledge of management agents, redundancy concepts, and ITIL processes.
- Strong ticket management discipline and adherence to SOPs.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools for issue tracking and resolution.
- Good understanding of technical support in Linux environments and related networking concepts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Positive attitude and ability to perform under pressure with customer-first focus.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and contribute to 24×7 support operations.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in Linux server administration or enterprise IT operations.
- Awareness of cloud infrastructure, storage systems, and virtualization tools.
- Strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn emerging technologies.
