About the Role
Join Syfe as a DevOps Intern, where you’ll play an integral role in supporting and automating our cloud infrastructure operations. In this role you’ll work within the DevOps team to help implement and support CI/CD automation intern role workflows, maintain Linux cloud systems, and support scalable infrastructure projects. This internship aligns with Syfe’s mission to innovate and grow in a multicultural, high-growth environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, deploying and maintaining infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Linux environments).
- Work on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, assist in automation and standardisation of cloud setups.
- Support creation and management of Linux infrastructure support internship scripts and automation tools.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot first-line issues, and contribute to the resolution of incidents in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Use version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines to support development and deployment workflows.
- Document workflows, create or update knowledge base articles, and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional teamwork spanning cloud, security, networking, applications.
- Support initiatives to improve uptime, performance monitoring and reliability of the cloud infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of Linux systems, AWS cloud infrastructure, and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and interest in CI/CD automation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication skills and ability to work in diverse cultural teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive learner attitude.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Exposure to container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) or infrastructure automation tools.
- Prior experience or certification in AWS, Linux or cloud support would be a plus.
- Understanding of cloud operations, monitoring tools and scripting for maintenance tasks.
