Cyber Triage and Forensics (CTF) – The Cyber Defense Response Center is responsible for monitoring and detecting information security events that may negatively impact EY information assets and resources. Its mission aligns with both incident response and attack lifecycles. A qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with highly skilled cybersecurity professionals to learn and develop new capabilities. The candidate will be exposed to various technologies and security tools while working with EY, along with strong career growth opportunities in a Cyber Triage and Forensic Analyst environment. CTF also delivers training programs to analysts for upskilling.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Perform frontline accurate and precise real-time monitoring and analysis correlation of logs and alerts from multiple security devices, focusing on determining whether events constitute security incidents. Collaborate to detect and respond to information security incidents, develop, maintain, and follow procedures for security event alerting, and participate in security investigations. The CTF Junior Security Analyst must be capable of working at a technical level, identifying threats and vectors that trigger security events, and following defined procedures for mitigating such threats as part of SOC Analyst Entry Level responsibilities.

  • Respond to network- and host-based security events
  • Participate in detecting, investigating, and resolving security events
  • Identify and recommend areas for improvement within the Cyber Defense Response Center
  • Provide documentation and project support
  • Serve as an escalation point for challenging issues and complex inquiries
  • Serve as shift lead when required
  • Conduct detailed security event analysis using network traffic attributes and host-based attributes (binary analysis, etc.) to identify information security incidents
  • Provide feedback on security control capability gaps based on security intrusion trends
  • Develop and maintain analytical procedures to enhance security incident identification efficiency
  • Demonstrate the ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Under Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related domain (MCA / MTech / BTech / BCA / BSc CS or BSc IT)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Working in a Security Monitoring / Security Operations Center environment (SOC)
  • Experience investigating security events, threats, and/or vulnerabilities
  • Understanding of electronic investigations and log correlation, proficiency with modern intrusion detection platforms, and working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows systems administration (including AD)
  • Scripting or programming (Shell scripting, PowerShell, C, C#, Java, etc.)
  • Information Security Principles, Technologies, and Practices
  • Experience with multiple security event detection platforms
  • Fair understanding of Linux, TCP/IP, Network Security, encryption standards, etc.
  • Awareness of attack types (DoS, DDoS, etc.)
  • Understanding of basic IDS / IPS rules to identify and/or prevent malicious activity
  • Awareness of security log analysis
  • Knowledge of various penetration testing and application testing methodologies and tools is a definite advantage for a Cyber Security Analyst Fresher role
  • Comfortable navigating and troubleshooting Linux and Windows system issues
