This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how they are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing their existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
The Data team is responsible for ensuring that Preqin’s coverage of the alternative assets industry is accurate, up to date and comprehensive. Your primary focus will be on data processing and quality assurance of public data. You will report into the Data Lead, and work in close collaboration with a global team of data management specialists to research, analyze, and curate public data delivered to Preqin’s clients.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Acquire, update and maintain high-quality alternatives data using various internal tools and software
- Conduct in-depth web-based research to collect data relating to firms such as Company Information, Deals, Investments, Valuation and other key data points of the firm.
- Interpret company filings, deal information, and structured/unstructured data.
- Update Preqin’s databases with key financial information, statistics, and analysis on which our clients depend on
- Work on complex data projects related to data quality, process re-engineering and workflow optimization
- Support bulk updates, backfills, and data improvement initiatives as required
- Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for research decisions
- Develop subject matter expertise to improve our data offering to clients.
- Work with collaborators across various business units to further develop our data product offering
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- You have a Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business or Engineering
- You are proficient in English and have excellent writing and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 1+ years of proven work experience.
- High level understanding of private markets or private equity.
- You have a keen curiosity about finance and knowledge of financial markets
- You have experience using Microsoft tools such as SQL, Copilot, Excel, SharePoint, and Office 365.
- Good to have python skills.
- Learn new tools, workflows and datasets.
