Barclays is seeking a Financial Crime – Alert Management Analyst to support its Financial Crime functions. The role involves working with Financial Crime Execution Teams and business teams to identify, assess and manage financial crime risks.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage financial crime alerts where red flags are identified through automated sources such as transaction monitoring (TM) or manual sources.
- Conduct independent reviews to determine whether suspicion has been formed and identify the appropriate course of action.
- Escalate matters to management where applicable and obtain sign-off on recommendations.
- Conduct customer-level risk assessments following trigger events.
- Make recommendations to senior business management on whether customer relationships should be maintained or terminated.
- Review trigger events including Watch-List Matches, disclosed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), Court Orders (COs), exposure to Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and Adverse Media hits.
- Support Sanctions Reviews and Investigations, including responses to True Match alerts.
- Support the management of Customer Exceptions and Existing Customer Reviews.
- Work closely with business and Financial Crime Teams to provide guidance on financial crime policies and standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Financial Crime and identify red flags requiring escalation or further action.
- Maintain relevant risk, process and control documentation.
- Collate information for attestations and regulatory submissions where required.
- Support business oversight of the Financial Crime control environment, including monthly KRI reporting cycles where appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduation degree.
- Working knowledge of UK AML Regulations and Financial Crime regulatory, compliance and risk management frameworks.
- Experience in a financial institution in the 1st or 2nd Line of Defence supporting Financial Crime functions.
- Experience managing stakeholders at Senior Executive Committee level.
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive strategic, innovative and competitive solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to prioritise changing business needs and drive results.
- Ability to work with a diverse and inclusive leadership style.
Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized Financial Crime or Anti-Money Laundering qualification such as ACAMS or ICA, or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of UK Corporate and Payments businesses, clients, operations and relevant sectors, including high-risk industries.
- Good working knowledge of general IT applications.
