The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of their company’s payment network.
The newly created U.S. Merchant Marketing, Global Marketing Execution & Analytics (UMGEA) team is responsible for leveraging marketing and analytics capabilities to drive sustainable growth through customer, partner, and product insights that inform the merchant value proposition, channel strategy, and investment optimization, while leveraging the full range of enterprise assets and partnerships for GMNS customers and ensuring they remain compliant as a network.
The GMNS Analytics team within UMGEA is responsible for partnering with global markets to drive profitable growth, accelerating acceptance and amplifying the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants, bank partners and Card Members at scale. They offer powerful data and actionable insights to attract new businesses to engage with Amex, help existing businesses improve performance and capitalize on new opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work in a dynamic, fast changing environment, with attention to detail, great communication skills and success driving results through multi-functional collaboration
- Support the reporting, measurement and analytical foundation for highly evolving acquiring models in payments space
- Support the automation and scaling of analytics using relevant data tools.
- Focus on Data quality by leveraging internal data systems.
- Support the conception and development of data tools / treatments that will drive merchant value and enable greater merchant engagement across channels.
- Understand how GMNS business strategy is enabled through existing analytical solutions and emerging data capabilities that can be built to address key business needs.
- Evaluate current reporting to identify opportunities that will drive automation, eliminate redundancies, and address reporting gaps.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and understand complex processes with the goal to provide meaningful insights to inform business strategy.
- A highly motivated individual with excellent project management skills.
- An individual who is passionate, flexible, and has a positive attitude.
- Able to effectively adapt under changing conditions and prioritize initiatives in a fast-paced complex environment.
- Ability to work with unstructured data.
- Clear and concise with written and verbal communication.
- Strong presentation skills.
- An undergraduate degree; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred. Technical Skills: Familiarity with Google Bigquery, SQL, R, Python, Lumi, PySpark and Tableau.
- Experience in the merchant business preferred.
- Experience in Machine Learning/ Cloud / Gen AI is a plus.
