Roles and Responsibilities:
- Claims Management & Analysis
- Manage the entire claim compensation process.
- Review requests for claim denial, clear data, and claim exceptions, ensuring deficiencies are correctly flagged and customers are promptly notified of coverage.
- Analyze claims and supporting documentation to determine claim eligibility.
- Analyze claims and interpret policies.
- Assess and authorize claim payouts within the applicable limit of authority.
- Work claims from dedicated folders as directed by upper management.
- Communication & Escalations
- De-escalate escalated claims efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Send claimant responses, including deficiency and rejection letters.
- Provide timely and efficient responses to clients.
- Communicate updates, claim information requests, and recommendations to relevant units.
- Follow escalation protocols and policies.
- Escalate claim quality concerns and outcomes to a supervisor or appropriate unit.
- Documentation & Legal Coordination
- Use software to document client conversations through accurate and descriptive notes.
- Review and track claim documentation and follow up for additional information when necessary.
- Daily Operations & Reporting
- Manage claims-related activities on a daily basis.
- Monitor claims intake and notify the supervisor about potential backlog or delay concerns.
- Complete at least 7 hours of log time within the system each day.
- Track daily claims activity to meet weekly goals set by upper management, including 40 status changes or contacts per day.
- Process a minimum of 6 claims per day.
- Work scheduled shifts with allotted lunch and break times as directed by a supervisor.
- Follow company directives, policies, and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A degree or coursework in business, insurance, or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in claims, insurance, or customer service, ideally in home warranty or property insurance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain coverage decisions to customers.
- Ability to manage a high volume of open claims while maintaining attention to detail.
- Sound judgment when reviewing documentation and assessing coverage against contract terms.
- Proficiency with claims management software and general computer applications.
- Proven experience working with US-based business teams.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.
Work Schedule & Requirements
- The role requires full and ongoing overlap with Porch’s U.S. EST business hours, which is 7:30 PM IST – 3:30 AM IST. A Night Shift Allowance is applicable in line with company policy.
- The role also requires a quiet workspace and an internet connection with at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
