The Supply Chain Data team in India works closely with the Spend Intelligence team and the Market Intelligence Group (MIG). MIG provides market insights through SaaS-based products, including price benchmarking, cost escalation, forecasting, renewable asset cost estimating, supply chain risks, carbon (GHG) emissions, and supplier insights.
The Spend Intelligence team delivers cutting-edge intelligence for supply chain organizations within the energy sector. Their primary focus is transforming raw customer spend data into actionable insights. The India team plays a crucial role in supporting global clients by cleansing, enriching, and categorizing spend data, enabling better decisions and risk reduction.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Use Wood Mackenzie’s proprietary datasets and secondary research to build goods and services benchmarks and develop strategy recommendations for clients.
- Perform data extraction, cleaning, validation, and analysis on large datasets, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
- Cleanse, enrich, and combine existing data to create more powerful datasets, enabling new ways to visualize and analyze insights.
- Conduct secondary research to gather data on energy industry market trends and supply chain risks.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to refine workflows and deliver accurate, high-quality insights.
- Document processes to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
- Collaborate in an Agile team setup to continuously improve data products and processes.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of supply-demand shifts, commodity pricing, and emerging opportunities in the global energy industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a quantitative focus (0–1 years of experience in Secondary Research).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
- English fluency required.
Pluses:
- Experience in the energy and natural resources industry.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, Power BI, or database management.
Work Expectations
