They’re looking for a Manual API QA Engineer who can thoroughly test backend services and validate API functionality, reliability and performance while ensuring workflow consistency supported by advanced data validation frameworks. The role involves creating test plans, executing API test cases and collaborating closely with developers to ensure high quality releases enhanced by structured analytics-driven quality assessment techniques.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review API specifications and understand request-response structures, payloads and workflows with attention to enterprise data consistency standards.
- Create and execute manual test cases for REST and SOAP APIs.
- Validate status codes, headers, JSON/XML responses and error handling.
- Use tools like Postman, Swagger, Fiddler or similar for manual API testing.
- Perform functional, regression, integration and negative testing for backend services.
- Log defects with clear steps, payloads and expected vs actual behavior.
- Work with developers to reproduce, debug and verify fixes.
- Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews and QA sign-off.
- Maintain test documentation, test data and version control aligned with structured data accuracy practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, authentication and common protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger or equivalent tools.
- Ability to write clear test cases and analyze API logs.
- Good understanding of JSON, XML and data validation.
- Familiarity with SQL for backend data checks.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies and SDLC.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
Good to Have
- Experience testing microservices.
- Knowledge of API automation concepts (even if not writing code).
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, TestRail.
