WB Police Constable Recruitment 2024: West Bengal Police Recruitment Board released latest notification for 3734 Constable and Lady Constable in Kolkata Police 2024. Interested Aspirants, who are willing to apply for Constable, start to prepare for the written examination and physical & measurement test conducted by West Bengal Police Department. The total no of vacancies has been divided in to reservation wise break ups as Unreserved, Economically Weaker Sections, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC-A and OBC-B. WB Police Constable Eligibility 2024:
The Eligibility criteria for the post of constable and lady constable should complete Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. The eligible candidates should known to read, write and speak in Bengali Language.
- Constable & Lady Constable – The applicant must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. The applicant must be able to read, write and speak Bengali language provided that the provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. For the applicants of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the provisions laid down in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 (West Ben. Act XXIV of 1961) shall be applicable
Age Limit:
The Age limit for the Post of Constable and Lad constable for Kolkata Police 2024 should be with minimum 18yrs and the maximum should be not more than 30yrs. West Bengal Police Recruitment Board announced the age relaxation for 5 (five) years in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates, by 3 (three) years in case of Other Backward Classes-A and Other Backward Classes-B candidates, by 3 (three) years in case of Third Gender/Transgender persons and by 5 (five) years in case of Civic Volunteers. The upper age limit shall be relaxable by the total number of years of completed service for the Ex-servicemen candidates subject to maximum age of 40 (forty) years.
WB Police Constable Salary 2024:
The WB Police Constable Salary is fixed by the 7th Pay Commission’s as per the norms. The pay range for West Bengal Police Constables is Rs.22,700 to 58,500/-Per Month.
Application Fees:
The application and processing fees announced by the Kolkata Police 2024 for the post of Constable and Lady Constable is briefly given below. No exemption of fees is available to the SC / ST candidates of other States. Payment of Application and/or Processing Fees shall be made through payment gateway by using Debit Cards / Credit Cards / Net-Banking of any Bank. Fees can also be paid through different e-wallets and UPI App.

Selection Process of WB Police Constable:
The post of Constables / Lady Constables in the Kolkata Police shall be filled up by Preliminary Written Test which will act as screening examination and followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Interview conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. Question paper will be set in two languages (Bengali & Nepali).
Preliminary Written Test (100 Marks)
- General Awareness and General Knowledge : 40 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) : 30 Marks
- Reasoning : 30 Marks
Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
The physical standards (height and weight) of the candidates as given under 4(f) will be tested by using Electronic Machines of those who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test. The chest measurement (only for Male candidates) will be taken by using measuring tape.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The general awareness and suitability of the candidates for public service will be tested. Candidates’ ability to speak in Bengali will also be tested in his/her Interview. On the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
