Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to extract property data using regular expressions, large language models (LLMs), or similar technologies.
- Contribute to backend service development with clean, well-tested code, following Porch Engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions to continuously improve development processes.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining clear communication with your team.
- Gain hands-on experience with microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software deployment.
- Follow established design patterns and frameworks while developing sound engineering judgment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 0–2 years in software development (Freshers eligible).
- Technical Experience:
- Strong proficiency with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL).
- Production JVM language experience (preferably Scala).
- Familiarity with data science concepts, data labeling, and information extraction.
- Exposure to real estate data systems, property inspections, or related analytics tools.
- Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud services (AWS, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Location Requirement: Candidates must reside within 150 km of Greater Delhi NCR, Greater Bangalore, or Greater Pune.
- Work Hours: Ability to work during core US business hours (EST overlap).
- Workspace: A quiet, distraction-free environment with a minimum internet speed of 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
