They are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer I (SRE I) to support the reliability, scalability, and performance of Phenom’s cloud-native platform in a junior site reliability engineer role. This role is ideal for engineers early in their SRE/DevOps journey who are passionate about automation, observability, and building reliable systems at scale, while learning and applying core SRE principles such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support SLIs & SLOs: Assist in defining, monitoring, and tracking Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to ensure a strong user experience as an SRE engineer.
- Error Budget Awareness: Monitor service reliability metrics and support teams in balancing operational stability with feature delivery.
- Monitoring & Observability: Help build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using the Grafana Stack (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Alertmanager).
- Automation & Toil Reduction: Develop scripts and automation to improve deployments, scaling, and system recovery, reducing manual operational effort.
- Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations, assist in incident resolution, and contribute to blameless postmortems and root cause analysis.
- CI/CD Reliability: Support and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and low-risk deployments to production.
- Capacity & Performance Support: Assist with capacity planning and performance analysis to ensure systems scale efficiently.
- Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with developers to improve system reliability, fault tolerance, and operational readiness.
- Reliability Culture: Learn, follow, and promote SRE best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field relevant to a cloud reliability engineer profile.
- 1–3 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Exposure to managing production systems in a cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably on AWS.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch.
- Basic to intermediate experience with the Grafana Stack (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo).
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Scripting or automation experience using Python, Bash, or Go.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, load balancing, and cloud-native architectures.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible is a plus.
