They are seeking an individual to join the team as an Associate who will work closely with Account Managers of Morgan Stanley Fund Services in ensuring accurate NAV calculation for hedge fund clients as part of a fund accounting associate role. The Associate will also handle various client requests to update portfolios within Morgan Stanley Portfolio Accounting (MSPA).
Within the Morgan Stanley Fund Services division, teams support a global institutional client base by delivering innovative solutions to hedge funds, multi-asset class investors, family offices, and private equity firms through a hedge fund accounting position.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting solutions to hedge funds for independent valuation, investor transparency, and regulatory compliance.
- Calculation of daily NAV.
- Review MSPA to custodian reconciliations, identify and determine causes, notify the Account Manager of breaks, and make necessary adjustments in MSPA when transactions are erroneous or missing.
- Perform middle office activities including P&L analysis, daily cash projections, calculation of FX transfers required for funding, and verification of client contributions and redemptions.
- Review general ledger exceptions, identify root causes, and implement required adjustments.
- Verify performance by reviewing significant P&L movements and analyzing income and expense journals for accuracy.
- Adjust activities as required for performance (MSPM) processing and reporting.
- Responsible for accruing daily or monthly non-security related accruals including management fees and financing accruals.
- Process non-automated transactions including OTC derivatives and associated cash movements.
- Perform daily and monthly securities pricing analysis.
- Validate and process corporate action data.
- Provide audit support and assist funds in the preparation of financial statements.
- Assist with compliance-related functions while supporting a financial services associate job.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 2+ years prior work experience – preferably in financial services.
- Knowledge of hedge fund processing is a strong advantage.
- Good administrative and organisational skills with a particular focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- An ability to work under pressure and an ability to cope with increased workloads at month-end.
- An ability to work as part of a virtual team that is spread across different time zones and geographies.
- An ability to use key financial systems and other IT tools.
