Roles and Responsibilities

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Eaton, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of cutting-edge technologies across IoT, embedded systems, and cloud-integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) across products, applications, and devices, including IoT systems, mobile apps, web applications, and embedded systems.
  • Support Threat Modeling and Risk Assessment processes during product design and development phases to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  • Assist with product certification and compliance under global cybersecurity standards such as UL2900 and IEC62443.
  • Develop automation scripts, testing tools, and security frameworks to streamline assessment processes.
  • Provide technical cybersecurity training to internal software and hardware development teams.
  • Track and analyze emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements to Eaton’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Support Cybersecurity Project Management and Operational Excellence (OpEX) initiatives to enhance process efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience
    • 1–2 years of relevant experience in product cybersecurity (experience requirement may be waived for candidates with a Master’s degree).
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of cybersecurity assessments, penetration testing, and secure coding practices.
    • Hands-on expertise with security tools such as Nessus, BurpSuite, Defensics, Coverity, Black Duck, and Kali Linux.
    • In-depth knowledge of security protocols (HTTPS, TLS, SSH, Zigbee, Bluetooth, etc.) and ICS protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850).
    • Familiarity with network security, web application security, and operating system hardening (Windows, Linux, Android).
  • Certifications (Preferred)
    • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), or similar credentials.
  • Soft Skills
    • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cybersecurity tasks.
    • Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
