Join Barclays as a Credit Risk Analyst within the Structured Lending & Financing (SL&F) team. SL&F Risk is responsible for multiple underlying asset classes, including Credit & Macro, Securitized Products, and Equities, each forming distinct risk verticals. The advertised role is an Analyst position within the existing Mumbai-based team, covering the SL&F CLO portfolio. Responsibilities include transaction analysis, post-sanction ongoing surveillance, annual reviews, and excess or exception management. The role involves credit assessment of new Structured Financing opportunities across CLO portfolios, with a focus on US & EU BSL & MM CLO transactions aligned to structured finance credit risk analyst functions. You will prepare detailed credit reviews based on fundamental analysis and present findings to senior risk management. The position also supports establishing appropriate risk management frameworks in line with Risk Policies and Standards. Quantify and monitor portfolio performance, including structural risk mitigants, debt covenants, and deleveraging triggers, along with monitoring, reporting, and annual review of Mandate & Scale Limits as part of credit risk management banking roles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To safeguard the financial health of the bank by identifying, analysing, and mitigating potential credit risks associated with lending activities.

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of financial data, including income, assets, liabilities, credit history, and economic trends, to determine default risk across portfolios, including structured lending risk analysis.
  • Monitoring existing loan portfolios to identify potential credit deterioration or early warning indicators of default.
  • Recommendation of loan approvals, rejections, or modifications based on risk evaluation and internal lending policies.
  • Development and execution of credit risk mitigation strategies, including collateral management, loan restructuring, and workout plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail, and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in credit analysis with familiarity in structured finance analysis and modelling techniques.
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk, Securitisation, CLOs, and awareness of current market trends.
  • Experience in credit risk management at a major investment bank or similar institution is an added advantage.

Some other highly valued skills may include

  • Demonstrated understanding of credit asset classes and fundamentals, with confidence to provide reasoned challenges to the Front Office.
  • Experience in credit analysis with exposure to securitisation analysis and modelling techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
