Roles and Responsibilities
- Network Operations & Support
- Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure (Cisco routers, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers).
- Monitor and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 network issues using tools like ping, traceroute, and SNMP-based monitoring systems.
- Support cross-functional teams to provision network connectivity for offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Systems & Cloud Integration Support
- Troubleshoot network connectivity for Windows and Linux servers.
- Support cloud networking setups in Azure (VNETs, VPN Gateways, NSGs, Route Tables).
- Collaborate with application teams to ensure secure, high-performance connectivity.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, and IT documentation.
- Follow ITIL-aligned processes for change management, incident response, and compliance with HIPAA, SOC2, and PCI-DSS standards.
- Security & Configuration
- Implement firewall rules and access controls under supervision.
- Configure VPN tunnels, VLANs, DHCP scopes, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRRP).
- Perform patching and maintenance to ensure system security.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Use monitoring tools such as Nagios, LibreNMS, and other NMS platforms to track network performance.
- Respond to alerts for latency, routing failures, and connection issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations and gain exposure to real-time production environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in network-related roles (freshers with strong fundamentals may apply).
- Strong knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP, and network security principles.
- Certifications preferred: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Network+, or Security+.
- Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE-Aruba, Juniper, and Azure networking platforms.
- Proficiency in LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, and MPLS technologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL standards and ticketing tools.
- Scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting is a plus.
