About the Role – SOC Analyst
Ethos is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join its cybersecurity team. The SOC Analyst will monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring the organization’s digital infrastructure security and data protection compliance. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities and a passion for continuous security improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools.
- Triage and prioritize security incidents based on severity and business impact.
- Escalate validated threats to the appropriate response teams and assist in investigations.
- Conduct forensic analysis and threat detection using tools such as EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and remediation actions in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with IT, network, and security teams for incident management and mitigation.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of SOC playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in security monitoring or IT operations.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and threat analysis.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and malware detection systems.
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and incident response skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry-recognized certifications like CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GCIA, or Splunk Core Certified User.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and related standards.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
- Previous experience in a SOC or threat detection team is a plus.
