About the Role
The Morningstar Index team is seeking an execution-driven Business Analyst to collaborate on implementing the company’s technology roadmap. This role plays a key part in enhancing revenue growth and improving operational efficiency. The candidate will engage in data analysis, requirement gathering, and actionable insights to support Agile development teams. If you are passionate about business analysis in financial services and have an interest in portfolio construction, index calculation, or financial data dissemination, this role is tailored for you.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the technology roadmap from requirements gathering to delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
- Use financial and investment acumen to lead data analysis, identifying patterns and trends that inform roadmap decisions.
- Present actionable insights on dashboards to support business and product priorities.
- Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to ensure timely, high-quality product enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineering squads in an Agile software development environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement).
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, relational databases, or dashboard tools like Tableau/Power BI (preferred).
- 0–2+ years of experience in business analysis or product management.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation abilities.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical requirements.
- Experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
- Knowledge of investments such as stocks, indexes, funds, and ETFs (preferred).
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to perform in fast-paced environments.
