Roles and Responsibilities:
A Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure jobs in Bangalore. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources while monitoring and responding to incidents and issues. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps best practices.
Your day-to-day job will consist of:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
- Manage and administer Citrix environments including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop).
- Design, implement, and manage VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter.
- Database administration and support for SQL Server or Oracle databases, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and security.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular health checks, and optimize infrastructure for high availability.
- Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to servers, virtualization, Citrix environments, and databases.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users.
- Manage service request tickets in a queue and work on tickets assigned.
- Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in Cloud Operations Administration with a focus on Windows Server, Citrix, VMware, and databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of Windows Server technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
- Experience in making changes in HA environments with zero downtime deployment strategies.
- Knowledge of web application architecture and technologies, including IIS, DNS, HTML.
- Proficiency in writing scripts/programs (PowerShell, Python, JavaScript) to automate tasks.
- Basic SQL query skills: Select, Update, Delete.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP framework.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization technologies, including ESXi, vSphere, vCenter.
- Preferred Certifications: Azure, MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP.
