Roles and Responsibilities
As a Network Operations Engineer / Analyst, your key responsibilities include:
- Provide 1st/2nd line technical support and incident management for circuits and hardware.
- Monitor, report, and track carrier issues, hardware replacements (RMA), and incident logs.
- Manage routine network maintenance activities and implement configuration changes.
- Perform monitoring, fault management, and remediation of network alerts.
- Conduct root cause analysis of incidents to prevent future issues.
- Assist in periodic network performance reviews and analysis.
- Maintain and update operational procedures, policies, and support documentation.
- Support adoption and tuning of the network management platform.
- Perform daily network health checks and operational handovers.
- Participate in shift rotation for 24/7 coverage.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ year of experience in IT infrastructure operations or support role (Freshers with certifications can also apply).
- Strong knowledge of network routing, switching technologies, and routing protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco equipment (routers, switches).
- Familiarity with firewalls (Checkpoint, Cisco), load balancers, and WAN accelerators.
- Experience with scripting/programming tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform is desirable.
- Formal certifications like CCNA / CCNP preferred.
