As an analyst on the technical operations team, you will support some of Stripe’s most critical payment flows and a platform that processes hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually, contributing as a technical payments operations analyst. Their team builds and scales infrastructure and financial partner integrations that enable Stripe to accept, manage, and disburse funds across multiple countries, currencies, and payment methods.
Technical Operations roles in Payments are a dynamic and essential part of Stripe’s success. This team’s scope includes maintaining financial partner integrations, cash reconciliation, monitoring and sustaining payments performance for Stripe’s users, and triaging and investigating performance degradation issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Handle reconciliation and payments-related requests to ensure accurate fund ledgering and address support inquiries from banking partners as part of a payments operations analyst role.
- Monitor user performance, respond to alerts of degradation, triage and investigate root causes, and communicate findings to account teams, banking partners, and card networks.
- Respond to performance-related inquiries from technical account managers, product support teams, and other internal Stripe teams.
- Interface with Stripe’s global financial partners to communicate operational disruptions and help drive effective resolutions.
- Provide fast and accurate responses to complex partner support inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to validate the accuracy of Stripe’s financial data.
- Introduce data-driven and process efficiencies to meet Stripe’s scale and speed.
- Identify and automate inefficient operational processes to reduce manual workloads.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Have at least 2 years of experience in a technical role with hands-on experience writing SQL to query relational databases.
- Have experience understanding the complexity of payment flows, financial systems, and solving large-scale technical challenges.
- Possess strong analytical skills to investigate, prioritize, and identify root causes of issues.
- Have experience managing complex workflows requiring investigations and coordination with technical and non-technical teams across internal and external stakeholders.
- Have experience or demonstrate comfort in working with large datasets and data validation.
- Have experience documenting SOPs, best practices, and other process documentation.
- Be comfortable operating independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering results and managing time-sensitive deadlines.
- Be responsible for identifying technical or product-related issues and driving them to resolution.
- Have experience identifying and triaging technical issues.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in recognizing opportunities for process improvement and proactive issue resolution.
- Possess an investigative mindset with relevant operations experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Payments expertise, including working with financial partners, optimizing processing errors, and managing payment costs, relevant to a fintech payments analyst position.
- Experience operating within a high-growth technology company.
- Understanding of financial and accounting concepts will be an added advantage.
