Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform network security monitoring and incident response.
- Maintain accurate records of incident response and security monitoring activities.
- Monitor and analyze SIEM tools to identify and remediate security issues.
- Configure, schedule, and review vulnerability scan results.
- Coordinate periodic account and access reviews.
- Collect evidence for compliance audits.
- Create SIEM policy rule sets using simplified matches or regex.
- Run reports and analyze indicators of compromise.
- Identify successful or unsuccessful intrusion attempts through detailed event analysis.
- Consolidate threat data from various sources and provide early warnings for potential attacks.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with internal teams.
- Respond promptly (within SLA) to security tickets.
- Be available and ready to handle incoming support requests.
- Communicate alerts related to intrusions and system compromises.
- Assist with the implementation of mitigating controls and countermeasures.
- Prepare detailed analysis reports and briefings.
- Follow all organizational security practices, policies, and procedures.
- Independently resolve problems and apply escalation procedures as required.
- Recommend updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Generate end-of-shift documentation for knowledge transfer.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 1–2 years of industry experience in Networking, Cybersecurity, or IT Infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency with Security Information and Event Management tools.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
