Join Shell’s Cloud Native Engineering Team and play a key role in building next-generation software platforms that power Shell’s digital transformation. As a Systems Engineer (Cloud Ops), you’ll work on large-scale infrastructure, collaborate with global teams, and enhance system reliability, scalability, and automation using tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, AKS, and Azure. You will partner with reliability engineers, developers, and product teams to design robust systems that ensure seamless performance and operational excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Partner with teams across India, Europe, and the US to deliver reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring using tools like Terraform, Jenkins, and Prometheus.
- Ensure system uptime, handle incidents, and lead no-blame post-mortems for continuous improvement.
- Manage Windows/Linux environments, including deployment, patching, and access management.
- Design and manage Azure components such as VNET, Blob storage, Runbooks, and ExpressRoute.
- Implement cost management, performance tuning, and capacity planning in Azure Cloud.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives.
- Support Azure monitoring, automation, and observability using Grafana, Kibana, and Elastic Stack.
- Maintain compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Windows/Linux administration.
- Strong grasp of ITIL, DevOps, and cloud networking concepts.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, PowerShell, or shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Terraform.
- Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and multi-tier architectures.
- Experience working with next-generation security tools and automation frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and incident management skills.
