Roles and Responsibilities
- Customer Support & Troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve customer issues related to Ubuntu and Canonical’s products.
- Work collaboratively with customers via phone, ticketing systems, and remote sessions.
- Diagnose and fix complex issues involving Linux desktop and device environments.
- Knowledge & Collaboration
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles to support customer self-service.
- Understand the Ubuntu development process to set accurate customer expectations.
- Participate in a rotational weekend schedule to ensure continuous support coverage.
- Incident Management
- Take ownership of support cases and ensure resolution within SLA timelines.
- Research, escalate, and coordinate with internal engineering teams when needed.
- Deliver high-quality, professional support ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Strong background in Linux troubleshooting and system administration.
- Ability to analyze logs, stack traces, and configuration files.
- Experience integrating Linux with authentication or directory services (e.g., LDAP, AD).
- Sound understanding of operating system and application-level bugs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Skills
- Programming knowledge in any language (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
