Role Overview
As an Online Backend Software Engineer, you’ll work on scalable, distributed backend systems that power matchmaking and gameplay services in EA’s top gaming titles. Your contributions will directly enhance the performance, reliability, and user experience of online multiplayer games enjoyed by millions worldwide.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and develop new backend services, covering storage, logic, and management layers.
- Enhance and optimize existing systems for high performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across EA’s studios.
- Maintain a suite of automated backend service tests.
- Support live environments and game team customers.
- Advocate best engineering practices and ensure code quality.
- Work with product managers to build innovative online gameplay features.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate / Post Graduate (B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, or equivalent)
- Freshers and experienced professionals can apply
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Go, C#, or C++
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Familiarity with AWS EC2, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred / Bonus Skills
- Experience with Jenkins, Groovy, or Ansible
- Knowledge of Google gRPC and protobuf
- Hands-on experience with high-traffic, distributed systems
- Familiarity with Cassandra, Apache Spark, and AWS S3
- Exposure to performance tuning and stress testing
- Prior experience in gaming software development is a plus
