Roles and Responsibilities
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud computing infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting UNIX infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Engineering and administering cloud deployments on Azure or AWS platforms.
- Developing automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code tools using Python, Go, or Perl.
- Conducting analytics and performance reporting using Cloud Native tools.
- Overseeing RHEL-based OS support for over 12,000+ global servers.
- Monitoring dashboards to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
- Building and maintaining servers, configuration, and deployments.
- Providing high-level system administration and operational support to ensure uptime and reliability.
- Collaborating with global teams to implement cloud infrastructure best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for streamlined deployments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, IT, or related field)
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant industry experience.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of RHEL systems administration.
- Proven experience in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in coding/scripting using Python, Go, Perl, or Java.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes / containerization technologies.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- Understanding of Volume Management (LVM, VxFS, VCS) and clustering concepts.
- Solid grasp of networking protocols (TCP/IP, NFS, DNS, LDAP, FTP, NTP, Samba, Autofs).
- Knowledge of DevOps / CI-CD principles and SRE techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical thinking skills.
Manager’s Note
The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of cloud infrastructure experience with a strong background in Linux administration and automation. Flexibility to work on weekends may be required for critical maintenance windows.
